For MUSIC Parent/Teacher Conferences, please go to your child’s CBE Gmail account and accept Mrs. Anderson’s invite into the Google Music Classroom. Here you will be able to view what we have been up to in September. If your child has already been into the virtual classroom, have them show you the items posted there. NOTE: the posts won’t be up until FRIDAY morning, September 25th. Feel free to write me a quick note and I will try to respond the same day. Thank you very much. Mrs. Patricia Anderson 💻I It was noted that some parents would like to email us. Here are our emails... Mrs. Cori Warrener ~ cmwarrener@cbe.ab.ca Mrs. Susan Pallesen ~ sgpallesen@cbe.ab.ca 🇨🇦 SS: The kiddos are working hard on their Canada Map Assignments! We are almost done! Great job! The map assignment is posted in under Classwork. ✏️ LA: Today, we read "I Am Not A Number," a story based on the experiences of Irene Couchie, when she attended residential school. We compared and contrasted this story with yesterday's story about Shi Shi Etko. Our Grade 5/6 classes will be hosting next week's virtual assembly for Orange Shirt Day (Wednesday, September 30). ❎ Math We continued to work with factors and factoring. We created a foldable for our sketchbooks focussing on factors, multiple, greatest common factors and least common multiples. Students continued the worksheet activities related to factors. We discovered that each whole number will have at least 2 factors -- #1 and itself. At home, students should be working on memorizing their basic multiplication facts. Based on yesterday's Mad Minute, your child should be able to tell you which multiplication squares they need to work on memorizing. (1x1, 2x2, 3x3, 4x4, 5x5, 6x6, 7x7, 8x8, 9x9, 10x10) 🌳 Science The Importance of Trees -- Students began a sketchbook page showing the different reason we need trees in our world. After some great brainstorming, we watched a few videos and showed our understanding through sketches, words, phrases and sentences. The videos are located in the Classwork tab in google classroom.
